Make Art Monday – February 16, 2026: Alma Woodsey Thomas

Join us on Monday, February 16, 2026 from 6:30-8:30 pm over at Eclipse Center for Creative Community located at 30 Vine St in Lansdale for Make Art Monday. For this month’s project, in honor of Black History Month we will be taking inspiration from Alma Woodsey Thomas’ colorful paintings, and creating our own colorful artworks with paint on paper. The cost of admission is $10. All skill levels are welcome, so feel free to bring friends. We hope to see you there!

Here is some background information on Alma Woodsey Thomas: Alma Thomas (1898-1978) was an African-American artist & teacher. She is best known for her paintings utilizing energetic brushwork, mosaic like patterned compositions, and commitment to color. In 1972, she was the first African-American woman artist to have a solo exhibit at the Whitney Museum of Art, and to have one of her artworks selected for the permanent collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
