Whether you’re age 6 or 60, a budding amateur or a seasoned professional, you’ll be able to hone your skills and pick up new techniques—or simply find some dedicated time to work on your craft—at one of our art classes.

Abstract Painting (Ages 18 and older)

When: Wednesdays, 10/26-11/16, 6:00pm-8:00pm

Where: North Penn High School, J12

Cost: $30.00

Description: Learn new technique and painting departures by experimenting with layering colors, adding texture, creating mark-making and dripping paints. Explore a series of artistic prompts/exercises to support letting go, connecting to intuition and stop judging your work. Supply list will be provided. Materials Fee of $22 will be payable to your instructor the day of class.

Neurographic Art (Ages 18+)

When: Saturday, 10/29, 12:30pm-3:30pm

Where: North Penn High School, J7

Cost: $30.00

Description: This meditative drawing process combines psychology and art and links your conscious and subconscious mind to create new neural pathways.  By drawing smooth, controlled curves and smoothing out the edges, you will create a complex drawing that looks similar to neurons.  Then, color.  No previous drawing experience required.  Bring painters tape, watercolor paper, fine line and ultra fine black sharpie markers (not oil based) and watercolors or colored pencils.  May also bring white posca paint marker.

Oil/Acrylic for Children Age 10 – Adult

When: Saturdays, 10/1-12/10, 11:00am-1:00pm

Where: North Penn High School, J7

Cost: $129.00

Description: Beginning and skilled artists will learn basic oil painting techniques, color theory, composition and rules of perspective. Parents are required to attend the first class with school-aged children to get information regarding materials needed. Fee includes one canvas board.

Introduction To Knitting

Description: Learn to make a textured cowl. Using CAST ON, BIND OFF, KNIT, PURL and SLIP STITCH.

When: 3 Sessions; Tuesday Evenings, 6-8pm, 11/1, 11/8 and 11/15

Cost: $75 for the 3 sessions

Registration Cut off: October 30th

Size #8 Circular needle, 30″ minimum.

Fabric Tape Measure

Yarn will be supplied for first class. Project will start in 2nd class.

Intermediate Knitting

Description: Learn Advanced techniques in pattern reading and tools. Learn to INCREASE and DECREASE in direction and use of YARN OVERS to create lacework.

When: 3 Sessions; Thursday Evenings, 6-8pm, 1/12, 1/19 and 1/26

Cost: $75 for the 3 sessions

Make Art Mondays

Make Art Mondays are monthly 2 hour workshops, held the third Monday of the month, 7-9 p.m., at 125 N. Main Street in North Wales. Try your hand at a wide variety of subjects and media in the company of other artists. Costs for supplies are usually $5.00. Below is a schedule of what we have planned for the year.
