Whether you’re age 6 or 60, a budding amateur or a seasoned professional, you’ll be able to hone your skills and pick up new techniques—or simply find some dedicated time to work on your craft—at one of our art classes.

Held in conjunction with the Continuing Education Program of the North Penn School District and the Borough of North Wales at the Trego Arts Center in St. Luke’s at 125 N. Main Street, the North Penn Art Alliance’s art classes regularly feature multimedia and drawing classes for children, as well as painting, drawing, and ceramics for adults.

Description: In this fun, fast-paced, technique-based painting style, students will learn how to depict birds, bamboo, fish, trees and more using black Sumi ink and Bamboo brushes.

Description: Learn color theory and basic composition.Utilize your own photos, still life and your imagination, to experiment with various painting techniques. Supplies to be discussed in first class along with a supply list. Returning students will continue their journey with watercolor by exploring texture and atmosphere. Please bring notepaper to class.

PAINT PARTY PAINTING  ages 10 thru adult
Instructor: Vicky McGarry
Day/Time: Thursday 6:30-8:30pm
6 Sessions: 6/27, 7/11, 7/18, 8/1, 8/8, 8/15
Cost: $115 plus $60 supply fee payable to instructor at first class
Description: Paint along with Vicky while learning a variety of techniques and artist’s styles, in a paint party atmosphere. Create a finished painting each week. Personal attention to each student. All skill levels welcome.

Description: Join us for an introduction to acrylics. Learn the fundamentals of this very pliable water based medium, from a professional artist. Have fun creating various landscapes while learning and understanding color theory and brush techniques. All skill levels welcome.

PEN & INK WORKSHOP ages 15 thru adult

Make Art Mondays

Make Art Mondays are monthly 2 hour workshops, held the third Monday of the month, 7-9 p.m., at 125 N. Main Street in North Wales. Try your hand at a wide variety of subjects and media in the company of other artists. Costs for supplies are usually $5.00. Below is a schedule of what we have planned for the year.

6/17/19 Drapo Dazzle Art, inspired by sequinned Hatian Drapos Banners. Using a variety of glittery, sparkly, shiny materials with bright colors, create your own interpretation of this festive Hatian art form which is a blend of French, African, Spanish & Native Caribbean cultures

7/15/19 Parent/Child Graffiti Art: This is a project parents and children can do together. Using a name or word to create a graffiti inspired piece of art.


9/16/19 Polynesian Medicine Sticks: Please bring your own stick approximately 1 1/2”diameter  by 12-18” long, we will supply everything else you will need. These sticks are made to represent the gods or deities that rule in nature and usually take the form of human face or figure wrapped in fabric or bark.

10/21/19  Day of the Dead Sugar Skull Masks to commemorate Dia de Los Muertos which is celebrated on November 1st.

11/18/19 “Paisley” Note Cards. Paisley patterns are based on Persian fabric designs and consist of kidney/ teardrop shapes embellished with floral patterns.

12/16/19 Holiday Ornaments: create festive ornaments from colored tissue paper and Styrofoam, these ornaments can be combined to create topiaries or larger centerpieces.
