Basic Drawing Class

Ages: 16-Adult

When: Tuesdays, 8/4-8/25 from 6-8pm

Cost: $135.00

Description: Learning to draw is really learning to see what we are looking at, and projecting three dimensional forms onto a two dimensional space. This will be achieved by learning the basic principles of representational (realistic) drawing, that have been practiced throughout the history of art by artists and the old masters alike. We will use the principles of understanding form, the five parts of light, three value relationships (value contrast), and finally learning the rules of linear and visual perspective as well as the rules of composition. Limited supplies will be available for the first class, other supplies will be discussed in the first class. Registration suggested as space is limited.

Alcohol Ink Workshop

When: Mondays, 8/10-8/17 from 2-4pm

Cost: $70.00

Description: Explore the fluid and unexpected quality of this unique, vibrant medium to create unique works of art. You will need at least 3-5 colors of alcohol ink (at least on metallic color), 90% isopropyl alcohol, and Yupo paper. We also suggest bringing brushes (do not use good watercolor brushes), q-tips, straws, sticks, paper towels, a small spray bottle for alcohol, pipettes, and an eye dropper. Disposable gloves are highly recommended, as inks are very staining. Wear old clothes or an apron. Inks and paper are available at Blick Art Supply and Amazon.
