Make Art Monday – March 21, 2022: Foam Printmaking

Come out and join us on Monday, March 21st, for Make Art Monday from 7-9pm at the North Wales Arts & Cultural Center, located at 125 N. Main Street in North Wales. This month’s project is foam printmaking. Admission costs $5.00. Parking is available in the back of the building off of Second Street. We look forward to seeing you all!

New Classes at the North Wales Arts & Cultural Center

Are you looking for a fun evening activity this spring? Then try out these art classes!

Join us on Tuesday nights at 7-9 p.m. on March 15 through April 19th for The Art of Drawing. This is a basic drawing class where you will learn how to use representational techniques when drawing objects. The class will start with learning the Art of Drawing the Still-life and finishing with learning how to use artistic anatomy to draw the human form & figure in costume. The cost of the class is $105. The fee includes supplies for the 1st class

Or maybe The Art of Figure Drawing: Workshop is more your speed. In which case, join us on Tuesday nights at 7-9 p.m. on May 10th and 17th. For $48 you can learn the principles of drawing drapery and the proportions of drawing the human form, to show what lies beneath the clothing. Bring your favorite drawing medium.

To register, fill out the class registration form on our website and mail it to our Po Box along with your check. The address for our PO box is P.O. Box 947, Lansdale, PA 19446. You can also simply bring your payment to the first class, but if you do that then you must let us know by phone or email that you will be taking the class so we know to expect you and reserve your spot in the class.

March 2, 2022: Musical Conservation with Joan Radcliffe Rosiak 

Join us on Wednesday, March 2nd, for a presentation featuring NPAA Co-founder, and former Board Member, Joan Radcliffe Rosiak, where she will be discussing her work to preserve her grandmother’s musical legacy. Follow Joan’s journey from removing mold from fragile 100-year-old paper, to sending the compositions for transcription. 

Come join in the adventure at 7:30 pm over at the North Wales Arts & Cultural Center located at 125 N. Main Street in North Wales! We might even listen to a few compositions that have lain silent for decades.

Make Art Monday – February 21, 2022: Treasure Boxes

Come out and join us on Monday, February 21st, for Make Art Monday from  7-9 p.m. at the North Wales Arts & Cultural Center, located at 125 N. Main Street in North Wales. Parking is available in the back of the building off of Second Street.

To kick off the celebration of Mardi Gras we will be creating treasure boxes. Admission costs $5.00. We look forward to seeing you all! 

The Moravian Pottery and Tileworks with Julianna Lange: February 2, 2022

Join us February 2nd at 7:30pm to immerse yourself in Mercer. We will be learning about the history of our local tile legacy preserved by Henry Mercer. 

Learn about his methods, inspiration, and materials. Julianna will be bringing in local natural clay to do a historic tile demonstration. 

Julianna is the Director of Education and Events at the TileWorks of Bucks County. She has been involved in ceramics for over 20 years from working at the Penn Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Studying and working in industrial ceramics and education in Italy and China, to production at The Moravian Pottery and Tile Works. 

She is looking forward to sharing her passion of ceramics with the North Penn Arts Alliance.

Event Cancellation: Winter Blues Art & Craft Festival

Unfortunately, due to the recent rise in Covid-19 cases, the Winter Blues Art & Craft Festival is postponed until further notice. We are aiming to reschedule for this upcoming Summer, covid permitting. Keep an eye out for updates on our facebook page and website.

If you are still interested in being a volunteer or vendor for future bazaars and shows, feel free to reach out and let us know.

Winter Blues Art & Craft Festival:    Vendor Registration and Volunteers

Hello, 

The North Penn Arts Alliance is currently looking for volunteers and vendorsfor our upcoming Winter Blues Art and Craft Festival at the North Wales Arts & Cultural Center on Feb 12th from 10-4 p.m

The cost of registration is $35. You must confirm your intent to be a vendor by contacting us either through email or phone 215-393-9110. You can text or call this number.

Registration form with check should be postmarked by January 24th.

If being a vendor for this event is not feasible, then please be a volunteer for whatever time you may have for that day. We are looking for greeters to collect an admission fee, assist with vendors, and helping with children’s crafts stations.

Finally, the NPAA art show is scheduled for April 22- May 1st at the North Wales Arts & Cultural Center on Main Street.  We will be looking for volunteers who would like to be part of the show committee.

Virtual Presentation: Graphic Designer Kathy Mueller on June 3

Join members of the North Penn Arts Alliance through Zoom on June 3, 7 p.m. for a presentation by Philadelphia-based Graphic Designer Kathy Mueller.

Kathy Mueller is an award-winning graphic designer and Assistant Professor of Advertising Art Direction at Temple University. Her professional focus is in brand identity, promotional design, and special events. 

As a feminist designer, she frequently addresses women’s interests in her projects and supports women entrepreneurs in her client practice. Her design style incorporates bold color, strong typography, and graphic illustration to bring projects to life. She is inspired by vintage ephemera and vernacular design. 

Kathy’s work has been recognized by the Art Directors Club, Type Directors Club, How International, Print Regional, and appeared in Harper Design, Wiley, How Books, and Rockport publications. Kathy holds an MFA Graphic & Interactive Design from Temple University, BFA in Graphic Design from Moore College of Art, and studied typography as a post-grad in Italy through the School of the Visual Arts.
